Finding Sanctuary strongly believes that the development of Marine Conservation Zones needs to be guided and influenced by all those whose livelihoods or leisure activity could be changed by them.

Allowing stakeholders to shape the developing MPA network

Marine Conservation Zones (MCZs) will restrict some activities, in particular those that are more harmful to the marine environment. If MCZs could affect you, or you have an interest in the future of the marine environment in the south-west, we would like to hear from you.

We are asking you to tell us which parts of the sea are important to you. The information you share with us will be used by your representative on the Steering Group to stand up for your interests during negotiations.  You can share your information by:

  • Visiting the Interactive Map,
  • Contacting your liaison officer who will conduct a face-to-face mapping questionnaire with you or
  • Coming along to one of our drop-in days.
